Ruby Kennedy Harris

Ruby Kennedy Harris, 69, of Osceola, died Sept. 22, 2020, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was a retired school teacher, banker and housewife. She was a member of Tabernacle MB Church and Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Harris was born Jan. 14, 1951, in Wilson to Thomas Jefferson and Mary Lou Lewis Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Cortez Kennedy and Gordon Keith Harris; one brother, Thomas Kennedy; two sisters, Shirley Smith and Jackie Coleman.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Harris. Jr. of Osceola; one son, Emory Harris of Osceola; three brothers, Paul Kennedy of Denton, Texas, L.C. Kennedy, Sr. and Robert Kennedy, Sr. of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Courtney Kennedy of Fayetteville and Teshanna Harris of Osceola.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, with the funeral at 1 p.m. at Living Word C.O.G.I.C. in Osceola. Burial will be at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola, with Rev. M.L. Smith officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola is in charge.
