Buffalo Island Central closed its regular season by whitewashing Riverside 14-0 in 2A-3 conference baseball action Saturday at Lake City.

The Mustangs, who avenged an earlier season loss to the Rebels, out-hit Riverside 14-3.

Caleb Suiter shutout the Rebels over three and 1/3 innings, allowing just three hits to earn the victory.

Brayden Carmichael finished up, allowing no runs or hits over an inning and two-thirds.

Jameson Stone and Kyle Thrasher both had two hits and three RBI apiece to pace the Mustang offense. Stone and Thrasher both scored one run each. Franklin Patterson singled twice, drove in two runs and scored once while Conner McCord had a pair of base knocks, drove in a run and scored three times. Kaleb Dublin singled, had three RBI and scored twice. Carmichael slapped a pair of singles and scored a run, Gavin Gathright cracked a single and scored three times while Suiter singled and scored twice. Payton Ivy had a base hit.

Grayson Emery, Justin Berry and Easton Hatch all singled for the Rebels. Ryan Austin absorbed the loss, pitching an inning and 2/3, giving up six runs on four hits. Hatch pitched one and 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits while Berry worked two innings, giving up six runs and five hits.

Both Riverside and BIC will begin District Tournament play this week.
