Main Street Blytheville is still looking for a director after an applicant turned the position down earlier this summer.
MSB board member Matt Perrin told the CN that when the board began its search for a new director early this year, they discussed that should the interview process not work, they needed to go back and review certain details about the position.
Perrin said that one of those potential reviews would be a solid pay increase to attract candidates who already or have previously worked in similar positions.
Another potential detail being discussed is whether the organization should branch out to include all of downtown and not just Main Street.
“We are really re-examining and we want to do it right. Everyone is as committed as they have always been on the board,” Perrin said.
Perrin added that the Chili Cook-Off will happen and be strong regardless of MSB’s director situation; however, they will begin actively searching for applicants to the position soon.
