James Curtis Sharp
James Curtis Sharp, 88, of Manila, passed away Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Born in Oakwood, Missouri, he was the son of the late Oran F. and Ery Steele Sharp and had been a longtime resident of Sunnyvale, California, before making his home in Manila in 1991. He was a 1944 graduate of Hannibal High School, a U.S.Army 11th Airborne Division WWII veteran and a self-employed brick mason.
He is survived by one son, James C. Sharp III and his wife Cynthia of Manila;
Two daughters, Billie Sue Misner and her husband Ray of Manila and Jane Ann Bobroff and her husband Ric of Durham, North Carolina;
One brother, Oran Sharp of Hannibal, Missouri; and
Five grandsons, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. Interment will be private.
