Billy Wayne Sneed

Billy Wayne Sneed, 78, of Cherokee Village passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014, at White River Health Systems in Batesville. Mr. Sneed was born June 15, 1936, in Caraway to the late Jake and Ruth Haney Sneed. He was the owner and operator of the Phillips 66 Station in Caraway for over 50 years. He enjoyed woodworking, drag racing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Marilyn Sneed of the home; one son, Mike Sneed of Caraway; one daughter, Teresa Gipson of Caraway; two brothers, Jerry Sneed and wife Nancy and Talmadge and wife Martha, all of Heber Springs; two grandchildren, Chelsea Richardson and husband Cody of Caraway and Josh Sneed and wife Candice of Lake City; four great-grandchildren, Cabella and Channing Richardson of Caraway, Atlee and Brantlee Sneed of Lake City; two stepchildren, Shannon Blake and Chris Hartis, both of Caraway; 10 stepgrandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Sneed was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Caraway Cemetery with Bob Hall officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, at Faith Funeral Service Chapel in Manila.
