Tanner Smith, a 2010 graduate of Manila High School and a digital filmmaking major at the University of Central Arkansas, had a film chosen to be screened at the 2014 Royal Film Festival, held at the Royal Theatre in Benton on March 29.
Tanner's film "D.C. and Jess" was one of nine films shown in the Arkansas Short Films section of the festival. D.C. and Jess was also shown at the Conway Film Festival in October, where it won best screenplay. It will also be screened at the Ozark Foothills FilmFest in Batesville on Sunday, April 5, as part of the Shorts Showcase.
Tanner also writes movie reviews for Delta Crossroads magazine, as well as Eye on Independence and Eye on Jackson. He also posts movie reviews on his blog, Smith's Verdict, which may be found at http://smithsverdict.wordpress.com/.
