During a special meeting in the mayor's office Monday morning, the Blytheville City Council agreed to waive bids and allow Thunder Bayou Golf Links to lease $268,029 in equipment from Ladd's of Memphis.

During a special meeting in the mayor's office Monday morning, the Blytheville City Council agreed to waive bids and allow Thunder Bayou Golf Links to lease $268,029 in equipment from Ladd's of Memphis.

All four of the six Council members present Monday voted for the request -- Kevin Snow, Stan Parks, R.L. Jones and Tommy Abbott. Council members John Musgraves and Missy Langston were absent.

The monthly payment on the five-year lease will be $4,889.75, which is available in the golf course's approved 2014 budget. Thunder Bayou budgeted $60,000 this year for leased equipment.

The brand new equipment includes a Jacobsen riding greens mower; Jacobsen riding tee mower; four Jacobsen walk behind greensmowers; four mower caddy trailers; a Turfco Turbo 27 blower; a Dixie Chopper Classic zero turn mower; a Smithco Super Star Field Conditioner 3WD; a Cushman Turf Truckster; a Smithco spray vehicle; a Ventrac 4500Z gas; a John Deere 4520 E-Hydro tractor with loader; a John Deere 4320 E-Hydro tractor; and a Lely Spreader WFR.
