Madison Greathouse fired a two-hit shutout to lead Buffalo Island Central to an 8-0 whitewash of Riverside in senior girls softball action Tuesday afternoon at Lake City. The junior right hander's strong pitching performance helped keep the Lady Mustangs perfect on the year at 7-0 overall and 4-0 in 2A-3 conference play. Greathouse finished the day with six strike outs while issuing only one walk.

Catherine Colbert led BIC at the plate, going 3-4, including her first career home run. Colbert also added a double. Lexie Ray contributed a single and a double for the Lady Mustangs.

Anna Brickell led Riverside at the plate, going 2-3.

The Lady Mustangs began the week with a convincing 12-1 victory over Rector. Greathouse went the distance, allowing just one hit while fanning seven Lady Cougars on the day. Greathouse scored three runs to aid her own cause. Bailey Owens picked up a pair of hits. Kelsey Strickland scored twice and drove in three runs. Lexie Ray had three runs batted in while Karoline Thomas crossed the plate two times.

Riverside knocked off McCrory 12-6 Monday afternoon on the road. Emily Jordan enjoyed a big day at the plate, clubbing four hits and driving in a pair of runs for the Lady Rebels. Kayli Womack had three hits and three runs batted in while Taylor Archer had a pair of RBI singles. Lauren Smith and Delaney George also added a pair of singles.

Archer picked up the win, going seven innings, allowing three earned runs while scattering nine hits. Archer struck out seven Lady Jaguars on the afternoon.

Manila crushes Hoxie 19-2

Manila's Lady Lions traveled to Hoxie Tuesday afternoon and clobbered the Lady Mustangs 19-2 in 3A-3 conference play. Manila (2-3, 1-3 3A-3) banged out 15 hits on the day. Five Lady Lions had two or more hits, led by Tessa Pannells, who rapped two singles plus a triple. Deven Burrow, Lauren Woody, Kailen Shelton and Emily Cook all had two hits apiece. Woody drilled a three run homer for the Lady Lions.

Jordyn Wheeler pitched three innings to pick up the win, allowing just two hits and two unearned runs. Wheeler also added a pair of RBI.
