Sandra L. Carter-Fugate
Sandra L. Carter-Fugate, 73, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and formerly of Blytheville, went to meet the Lord on Friday, March 21, 2014, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Sandra was a former employee of the Blytheville School District. She was a devout Southern Baptist and dedicated her life to raising her family. She enjoyed playing bingo with her lifelong friend, going to the casino and playing the slot machines, and putting puzzles together. In life, she collected angels; in death she earned her wings.
Sandra is survived by her children, Terry Carter and wife Beth of Las Vegas, Nev., Darrel Fugate of Lancaster, Pa., Lewis Fugate and wife Samantha of Farmington, Mo., Paul Fugate and wife Beth of Cape Girardeau, and Becky Rice and husband Mickey of McEwen, Tenn.;
A brother, Jerry Carter of Millington, Tenn.;
Her lifelong friend, Geraldine Larrow of Blytheville;
Eighteen grandchildren; and
Nineteen great-grandchildren.
Her father and mother, Herbert and Hazel Jackson Carter, and her brother, Darrel Carter, welcomed her to heaven.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Elmwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Richard Lourcey officiating. There will be no visitation.
The family requests memorials in Sandra's honor be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
