Queen Ester Polk
Mrs. Queen Ester Polk, 88, of Blytheville, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born Jan. 27, 1926, to the late George Walton and Lisa Armstrong Walton, she was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Meredith Polk; one daughter, Lee Ester McKinney; three sons, Lawrence Henry McKinney, Charles Freddie McKinney and James McKinney; three sisters Ester Lyons, Lizzie Wilborn and Stella Young; and one brother, Daniel Walton.
Mrs. Polk leaves three sons, Alex McKinney, Jimmy L. (and Earlean) McKinney and Andrew McKinney all of Blytheville;
Two sisters, Mozella Walker and Lula Love, both of Flint, Mich.;
Five brothers, George Walton of Berkley, Calif., Leo Walton, Eddie Walton and John Walton, all of Flint, Mich., and Thomas Walton of Little Rock; and
Fifteen grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay Slaughter officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville.
