Mrs. Bernice Jones Collier, 74, of Luxora, died of heart failure Sunday, May 1, 2011, in Jonesboro. Born Feb. 24, 1937, in Tupelo, she was a homemaker and a member of Gospel Temple.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Collier; her parents, Claudius and Essie Jones; one daughter, Brenda K. Tonson; and two brothers, John Richardson Sr. and Clarence Thompson.
Mrs. Collier leaves three daughters, Pamela Lewis of Luxora, Natasha Tonson of Jackson and Darnell Tonson of Chicago;
Three sons, Eugene Jones of Luxora, Milton (and Lottie) Lewis of Blytheville, and Michael (and Stephanie) Lewis of Luxora;
Two sisters, Evelyn Jones and Maxine Jones; and
Fourteen grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services, officiated by Elder Calvin Stone, will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday at Zion Chapel in Luxora.
