American soldiers killed in the line of duty were remembered during a service Monday morning at the Blytheville Courthouse lawn.

Two wreaths were laid at the veterans' monuments on the courthouse lawn.
The American, Arkansas and Mississippi County Flags were raised and lowered to half-staff during the ceremony.
Members of a local Boy Scout and Cub Scout troop were also on hand for the event.
Luna Williams, daughter of Amanda and Kelly Williams of Blytheville, played taps on the trumpet to conclude the Memorial Day service.

Mickey Littlejohn, the county veteran's service officer, was the speaker.
The Blytheville Police Department's Honor Guard fired a 21-gun salute.
Tammy Swanson sang "The Star-Spangled Banner"
Kent Reed of Blytheville released white doves as part of the Memorial Day service.
