American soldiers killed in the line of duty were remembered during a service Monday morning at the Blytheville Courthouse lawn.

Two wreaths were laid at the veterans' monuments on the courthouse lawn.

The American, Arkansas and Mississippi County Flags were raised and lowered to half-staff during the ceremony.

Members of a local Boy Scout and Cub Scout troop were also on hand for the event.

Luna Williams, daughter of Amanda and Kelly Williams of Blytheville, played taps on the trumpet to conclude the Memorial Day service.

The Blytheville Police Department's Honor Guard fired a 21-gun salute.
