The Big River Steel supersite is now the temporary host to around 350 workers employed by seven different contracting companies, as construction for the new steel mill gets underway in earnest. According to CEO John Correnti, by October of this year, the job site will be employing 2,000 construction workers, tapering back off next spring, when phase one of the plant is slated to be complete and in production.
