Mini Black History Museum
Tuesday, February 1, 2011
The Wiley Center, located in the old Franklin School building, is the new host to Blytheville's Mini Black History Museum, created by Vera James. The museum, once located in the Kress building on Main Street, is open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays by appointment. The museum features informational panels, posters, books and artifacts that showcase national and local black history highlights. Antique furniture and other work and home appliances are also featured. James purchased many of the items displayed, but has also received donations of artifacts from local people.
