The 2009 Buffalo Island Relay for Life was held on June 26. Proceeds from the Relay for Life go to the American Cancer Society.

Cancer survivors were introduced followed by a balloon release.

Sharon McKinney lit a candle in memory of cancer victims who have lost their battle and a second candle in honor of cancer survivors.

Cancer survivors took the first "Victory Lap" around the track at the Leachville City Park.

Caraway Mayor Barry Riley presents a donation from the city of Caraway in honor of Marvin Browning and in memory of Debbie Kelems. Pictured with Mayor Riley are Marvin Browning and Relay Chairman Brenda Matheny.

Heritage Bank Team was one of several teams setting up a campsite during the 2009 Relay for Life.

New Harmony cooks served corndogs and grilled corn at the Relay.

New Harmony Youth Group, The Firehouse Dogs, manned several children's games at the 2009 Relay.
