Juneteenth hosts Oratory Contest for youth, adults

The Mississippi County Juneteenth Committee hosted the adult and youth oration, as well as spoken word competitions on June 15 at the R.B. Harrison Complex. Zuri Nettles earned first place honors for the youth oration. For the youth spoken word, Kennedy Wilburn took home first place and Kourtee Riggins earned second. Adult participants in both competitions included Lillie Burton, Patricia Spinks, Linda Whitfield and Vera James.
