3A-2 Regional Baseball/Softball Tournament Day 1

Several area teams competed in the 3A-2 Regional Tournament in Tuckerman on May 4. The Gosnell Pirates punched their ticket to the state tournament with a 3-0 victory over the host Bulldogs, and Rivercrest did the same by taking a 5-0 win over Cave City. Manila fell 8-5 against top-seeded Melbourne, and Harrisburg lost a heartbreaker against Walnut Ridge, 7-6. On the softball field, the Lady Lions fell 15-0 to Tuckerman. Rivercrest suffered a 8-3 loss against Salem and the Lady Pirates dropped a nail-bitter to Newport, 3-2.
