Monette Christmas Parade

The Monette 2014 Christmas parade was held on Monday, Dec. 1.

Bertha Ray was Winner of the noncommercial float category. The float had a special guest, Santa Clause.

The commercial float winner Jerry and Shirley Coleman had kids in amazement with their bubble plane.

First Baptist Church of Monette took first place in the church float category. The group also took first place in the walker category for the children that dressed as presents and walked with the float.

Monette Assembly of God took second place in the church float division.

Antique cars both decorated and undecorated wowed at the parade. Winners in the antique car category was Mel Hale, Mark Douglas and Junior Lancastor.

In the ATV and motorcycle categories it was a father daughter win with Alexis Minchue taking first in the ATV category and her dad Mister Minchue taking first in the motorcycle category.

The tractor category was won by an International H, with the Allis Chalmers coming in second and John Deere 70 third. The divers braved the cold for the parade.

The Osceola Junior ROTC joined the members of the Monette VFW to present the color guard.

The Grand Marshal of this year's parade was Jim Sparkman.
